Dear Friend:

It is an honor for me to serve as President of the Underfashion Club. I believe that the Club and its activities are of inestimable value to the Intimate Apparel Industry and welcome this opportunity to provide you with highlights of our past and present endeavors, and give you a sense of our future!

  • The Underfashion Club is a not-for-profit 501(c) 3 organization.
  • Our Board of Directors identifies and achieves Club goals through the work of our member committees. The Board is elected by the general membership every two years and is composed of executives and owners of businesses, merchandisers, designers, salespeople and others. Many of our members are employed by manufacturers, suppliers and retailers. Indeed, anyone working in or providing services to the Intimate Apparel and related industries is welcome to join us.
  • Our primary mission is "Education today for a better industry tomorrow". We accomplish this by providing financial support to deserving students within the high school and college communities. The students are our industry’s future, and it is the intention of the Underfashion Club to guide interested students into our industry. The SAIG (Scholarships, Awards, Internships and Grants) Committee, which oversees this process, has chosen the Fashion Institute of Technology and the High School of Fashion Industries in New York City as the primary beneficiaries of the funds we contribute each year.
  • Educating our Club Members, by presenting informative seminars throughout the year, is an equally important aspect of our work.
  • The Femmy Awards Dinner is a premier gala that celebrates our industry annually by honoring individuals and companies that have significantly contributed to the growth of Intimate Apparel. This is the fundraising vehicle that generates the revenue for our numerous activities.
  • As the industry changes and continues on the road to globalization, the Underfashion Club will strive to reach the international community of companies and individuals that form such an integral part of Intimate Apparel’s future.
  • Our Website is the tool which will enable us to interact with our membership and to launch new initiatives. The site is currently being renovated to reflect what we believe will be most relevant to our members and to the industry.

The opportunity to network with our members, contribute to our educational efforts, attend our programs and experience the benefits of being a member of our industry community are the reasons that motivate many of us to devote our time and energy to the Underfashion Club. If you are a member, we welcome your involvement! If you are not a member, this is a good time to become one!
